Tasty but traumatic

These steamed babies had an incredibly tasty centre; they were a real representation of Nepalese cuisine with their flavours drawn from the Chinese (Sichuan peppercorns) and the Indian (cumin and curd cheese). The wrappers were coloured with turmeric and looked ace. However actually shaping the damn things was a pain; I really haven’t got the “closed satchel” master shape down pat and was monumentally grumpy about it. But all’s well that ends with crazy friends eating and enjoying them! We had these along with Korean pan-fried dumplings and Chinese boiled dumplings. (more…)
